We beg to enclose a copy of a letter dated March 16th., 1918, addressed by us to the Colonial Secretary, Hong Kong, with reference to outstanding claims against the above-named enemy firm, now in liquidation, arising out of considerable advances made to other

houses of the same by Messrs. Wm. Brandt's Sone & Co., Messrs.

Fruhling & Goschen and ourselves.

We trust that the proposal put forward will meet with no ob- jection on the part of the Hong Kong Government and venture to Bug- gest that should the same meet with your approval, you would be

good enough to communicate with the Hong Kong Authorities according-

ly.

We may add that the case of Behn, Meyer & Co. Ltd., Singapore and Branches, (in which the surplus assets resulting from the li- quidation of the establishments in British territory, namely at Singapore and Penang, have been made available for meeting claims
